Swagbucks Review

Ok, so we have all thought about it, working from home in our PJs. I know I have. And there are tons of sites and pins out there that give list beyond list of all these great work at home opportunities. I have tried a few and I have decided I would share my experience.

Now, I am still kinda new to this whole blogging thing. I have tried it before and my honest opinion was not welcome by some of the people I knew. Those people are now gone. So now I am trying again. I just had a baby 3 months ago. He is my third and final one and I am staying home with him for many reasons. So I figured I would look into working at home....

A popular link that gets listed a lot is Swagbucks.com. Yes I have tried it and if you would like to go check it out here is the link:

Try Swagbucks

Referring is one way to make what they call Swagbucks which can in turn be spent on "actual" money. There are many ways to earn Swagbucks within the site and I will explain each one and their pros and cons.

With this refer link, IF someone actually signs up and is active on the site, making points for their own account, you get a percentage of their points. So if your brother signs up off your refer link and makes 500 points, you automatically get 10 % which would be 50 points for you. Not bad if you know people who would be active on the site and make the points. Here is why that may or may not work.

Other ways to earn points:
First of there is a to do list that rests every day.

As you can see  from a screen shot of my actual account. The daily activities are listed on the left hand side. You do not however get points for just clicking the link.

-The daily poll:

1 sb for taking the poll

-The daily crave:

1 sb for watching two videos for 30 seconds a piece.
The daily search: Random amount of sb if you search a qualifying number of times or phrases. Honestly I haven't figured that part out. To me its all just random. I have been awarded anywhere from 4 sb to 20 sb.

-The daily watch:

This is 6 vidoes for 1 sb, 12 videos for 2 sb or 20 videos for 3 sb. You pick the playlist with the amount of videos you want to see and at the end you receive the amount it was for.

-The daily discover:

I have found this is the best way to earn point. There are a lot of free offers that you can do to get samples and other things including points. I do recommend using an email just for this site because filling out these offers, you get a ton of spam. The down side to this is depending on which one you choose, they dont always report. For this I use screen shots throughout the offer process and save it to its own folder. This way if I need to report that I wasn't awarded I have the proof that I did complete the offer. The points for this vary anywhere from 1 sb to the Uber offer of 8750 sb that I have seen so far.
Now when doing the offers, read them all the way. Some you just have to sign up to websites and others you have to do surveys. Some awards instantly and others take some time. So read the offers details and disclaimer all the way through.

-Attempt a Gold Survey:

You will have a list of surveys to choose from. Clicking on and trying any one will reward at least one sb. You receive one if you are disqualified.

-Deal of the day:

To mark this off the list you just have to click the link. It awards 1 sb just marking it off the list.

-Complete A gold Survey:

Honestly I was surprised I was going to get a screen shot of a completed survey. It is very rare for me to actually be able to finish a survey. This is a good way to get points, if you don't get disqualified. It does take some time however. All the surveys list their time it takes to complete, if you qualify.

You get a bonus for completing the daily bonuses. You do not have to complete them all to get the bonus. There are 8 daily items and I believe you get a small bonus after marking off 5.

-Inbox:

Ways to earn swagbucks comes straight to your inbox. You can click continue on any offer and follow the process through to earn your points. Again I recommend reading everything in the offer before continuing. You don't want to spend time going through an offer only to find out you have to pay for something you don't want to pay for and not get rewarded. We don't want to waste our time.

-Swagcodes:

Swagcodes are another way to earn points. They posts codes at random times of the day and you enter them to win a small amount of points. The top site is the one I use a lot. I think the highest I've seen was 8 points.

-Shop I think is a good way to earn points but only if you already buy online. If you go to the website of the store you're buying from through the swagbucks website it will tracking what you spend and you get so many points for every dollar you spend.

Here you can see some of the stores they offer. If you shop online at Walmart already, doing it through the swagbucks site will earn you 7 points for every dollar. Even at one point per dollar you are still making a free points if you shop online anyways.

-Games are the last ways to make points.
Most games give you so many points per dollar you spend just like shopping however you get more point with the games. If you don't mind spending money on games this is a great way to earn points. There are a few free games through swagbucks but playing them doesn't always pay out. In fact I have played one of their games a few times and have only won points once. But if you have time to kill it could be fun.

To earn a one time quick 50 points, download the swagbutton.

If you scroll down on the home page you will see the quick links, this is where you can download the button. The button makes knowing when codes are available and entering codes easier since you don't have to be on the site to enter and receive the points for the codes. You can also shop, watch and search from the button.

After you have earned your points, you can cash them in on the rewards page. For every 100 points, its 1.00$ that can be traded in for gift cards. I know some people think gift cards? Is it even going to have anything I'll use? Well the answer to that is yes.

As you can see here, even if you don't want a store card, you can get Visa cards and even Pay Pal cards. So the rewards can be worth it if you put the time and effort in.

UPDATE: On February 13, 2017, I submitted a request for points. I did every offer they had for Lifescript.  Here is my email to them:

Sjacobs206, Feb 13, 11:18 AM
I have done every lifescript offer there is, which is currently 38. Along with some that are no longer available. They do not award their 25 SB. I have gone through the surveys on every single one, and just did so again today to see if they would pay out. They didn't. I even went through the source code on the pages that should have triggered the award, nothing in any of their pages is linked to swagbucks or swagbucks awarding out except one page at the very end that asks if you want to sign up. I was told I needed to make sure I went through the swagbucks website to do these offers, I do and have done this any time I am ever on a lifescript page. I can screenshot the link it sends to before transferring to lifescript. I think the affiliate link needs to be updated to properly award as they are there under false advertisement. I have screenshots of all offers completed, source codes for lifescript pages and the transfer link if need be.

I was not awarded the points for any of these offers. All I received was a ton of spam from in my email. After submitting my request, I tried to log in again and my account was deactivated! So, I submitted another ticket:

Sjacobs206, Feb 13, 12:49 PM
I submitted a request to be awarded points for actions I have done, myself, not with any bot or anything like that. I went to change the page and it logged me out, as I am always logged in because I use the site for everything. I went to log back in and it informed me that I was deactivated. I have reviewed the terms and services and I know I was not in any violation so I do not understand why I was deactivated.

The next time I heard back from them, this is what they said:

Hello Sjacobs206,

Thank you for taking the time to write in regarding your Swagbucks.com account.

After careful review by our Compliance team this account was closed for exceeding the one account per person policy stated in our Terms of Service. This closure may be a result of sharing accounts with other members and/or operating more than one account.
Any Swag Bucks and Rewards remaining in a multiple account are automatically forfeited.

While more than one account per household is allowed, an account registered and/or operated for another person is expressly not allowed. This is done to protect the Swagbucks community, Swagbucks.com and our advertisers from activity that could negatively impact our site and services.

You can review our FAQ to see more such policies: www.help.swagbucks.com

Now, I have ONE account and ONE account only. So where did they get this information? I have submitted tickets before and there was no problem but now suddenly when I called them out on the fact they don't 'pay out' on their points, they decide I have another account and violated their terms??

I responded:

I do not understand, I only have one account. This is the email to my only account. If for some reason you believe I have another account, it is not me. So I do not understand
why my account was deactivated

In which they replied:

Hello Sjacobs206,

After further review, we've gone ahead and reactivated your account.

Please keep in mind that our Compliance Department will use security measures to determine if an account is within the rules of our Terms of Service.

Please review our FAQs to get an overview of our Terms of Service: www.help.swagbucks.com

However, even with my account being within the terms and reactivated, I never once heard any more about the points they owed me.... I put in a lot of time to get the points added up and yes it was great getting those rewards, but I am not sure I will continue on their site.

Best advice I can give you regarding this issue is to submit one ticket at a time. Don't bunch them all up. They will award you the smaller amount.
